“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. - Matthew 10:29-30 I wish there was a way to send my younger self an email or a letter or a voicemail. I'm not looking to cause some crazy time travel disaster. I just wish I knew then what I know now. I'm grateful for the growth and expanded understanding of the world, theology, and myself but sometimes I wish it came without the scars of learning the hard way. When we consider God's nature, His knowledge is one way that God is different than us. He doesn't learn. He doesn't need to. He has perfect knowledge and always has. And not only is his knowledge vast but it's also deep. The verse above demonstrates that depth in hairs and sparrows. Those are pretty trival pieces of info but God knows them. This week in our ongoing series - No One Like You - we will be opening up the idea of God's Omniscience. Before you get overwhelmed by a BIG theology word - it just means God knows everything. I'm looking forward to hearing Jim Maynard describe this important attribute and how it is a comfort to us.
