Moses said, “Please show me your glory.” And he said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name ‘The LORD.’ And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live.” - Exodus 33:18–20 (ESV) In the passage above something strange happens. Moses has been leading the new nation of Israel out of Egypt and into the wilderness. This has been a crazy journey filled with miracles and demonstrations of the presence of God, but Moses wants more. He wants to know and see his God. It's an amazing and bold request. In an even more amazing twist, God grants Moses' request - sorta. God will display himself to Moses but not fully. He will only see a veiled vision of God for Moses' protection. This bring up a great question - what is the glory of God? It's an attribute of God. It is found in many places in scripture. This week we continue our series on the attributes of God - No One Like Him - by looking at the Glory of God. Mickey will be opening up God's word to us.
