OUR MISSION
Our desire is to multiply people who are passionately pursuing Jesus and fearlessly on mission. Here’s what we mean . . .
MULTIPLYING PEOPLE
The church is not about a building, a program, or even a service but people. We can easily get that confused and lose the fact that all of these things are tools. So at Hope we want to be about the people. But not just a person but multiplying people. Not because we want a big gathering, but because we want the most people to know about our greatest pursuit, Jesus.
PASSIONATELY PURSUING JESUS
Learning more Bible is vital. Being in community with other Christians is essential. Prayer is a must. But all of these things are ultimately the means not the goal. All of these are important but what they should do is point us toward Jesus, the God-man who took the punishment we deserve and calls us to follow him. And so, we want to pursue him. And we want to help others follow Jesus passionately.
FEARLESSLY ON MISSION
This is not the ‚us-four-and-no-more‘ club. We are here to join God on His mission. He has tasked us with being the demonstration and mouthpieces for the gospel. We recognize that this message is not popular and communicating it could be hazardous, but we are not alone. He’s with us. So we fearlessly love people and tell them the gospel truth.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
The Evangelical Free Church of America is an association of autonomous churches united around these theological convictions:
GOD
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The Bible
We believe that God has spoken in the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, through the words of human authors. As the verbally inspired Word of God, the Bible is without error
The Human Condition
We believe that God created Adam and Eve in His image, but they sinned when tempted by Satan. In union with Adam, human beings are sinners by nature and by choice, alienated
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, one Person in two natures. Jesus-Israel’s promised Messiah-was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit, in all that He does, glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. He convicts the world of its guilt. He regenerates sinners, and in Him they are baptized into union
THE WORK OF CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ, as our representative and substitute, shed His blood on the cross as the perfect, all-sufficient sacrifice for our sins. His atoning death and victorious
THE CHURCH
We believe that the true church comprises all who have been justified by God’s grace through faith alone in Christ alone. They are united by the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ, of
CHRISTIAN
LIVING
We believe that God’s justifying grace must not be separated from His sanctifying power and purpose. God commands us to love Him supremely and others sacrificially, and to live out
CHRIST’S
RETURN
We believe in the personal, bodily and premillennial return of our Lord Jesus Christ. The coming of Christ, at a time known only to God, demands constant expectancy and, as our
RESPONSE AND ETERNAL DESTINY
We believe that God commands everyone everywhere to believe the gospel by turning to Him in repentance and receiving the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that God will raise the
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The Evangelical Free Church (or EFCA) is a movement of independently governed, Bible believing churches. While more prevalent in the north US, due to its Swedish heritage, EFCA churches are growing and being planted throughout the Southeast. As a movement we desire to see healthy churches planted among all people. You can find out much more about our movement, it's history, and beliefs by visiting efca.org.
We don't have a regular all church mid-week service. But we do gather throughout the week in community groups at various times and locations across the area. These are times for us to weave our lives together by sharing both our joys and struggles.
We do not have traditional Sunday School. We do utilize the hour before service to encourage and train leaders for various ministries. We also meet throughout the week in community groups for encouragement, teaching, fellowship, and mission.
On Sunday mornings, we gather at 10:30 a.m. for our worship service. Most of our time in the service is spent around God's Word. We do that through singing, reading God's Word, and hearing it explained. There are many examples of the messages here on the website.
We have programs for all ages at Hope.
New Moms: A nursing/cry room is located on the north side of the building. The service can be heard in the room.
Infancy to Pre-K (Playground): We have both a nursery and toddler room. If you would like to have your infant/toddler-age children cared for during service, you will need to "check them in" prior to worship on the north side of the building. Our greeters will gladly show you the way.
Pre-K thru 5th Grade (Treehouse): If you would like your pre-K thru 5th Grade children to attend a time of teaching and interactions that are fun and age-appropriate, you will need to "check them in" prior to worship on the north side of the building. Our greeters will gladly show you the way. After check-in your child will walk with you to the sanctuary to join us in our time of singing. They will then meet their leaders and youth helpers at the back of the sanctuary, where they will be escorted back to their classes. They will not be released from their classes until you pick them up after service.
At this time our 6th-12th grade join us for our service. They also meet Sunday evenings from 5:30-7:30 in our youth building which can be found on the south side of the church campus.
Anything you are comfortable in. On any given Sunday you'll find people in shorts and flip flops and others in golf shirts and jeans. You might even find some in dress slacks and a few who bust out the tie! Wear whatever's comfortable and you'll feel right at home.
